How to enter
E-mail us, include ‘Elections Forever 2026 Midterm Predictions’ in the subject, or post your prediction on X, tag @270sims, and include #ElectionsForever, using this format:
House: D ___ / R ___
Senate: D ___ / R ___
The deadline is Sunday, November 1 at 3:00 pm PT, before polls close.
How it’s scored
Your score is the number of House seats you’re off by, plus 5 times the number of Senate seats you’re off by. The lowest score wins.
For example, if you’re 4 seats off in the House and 1 seat off in the Senate, your score is 4 + (5 × 1) = 9.
The Senate counts for more because fewer seats are up for grabs, so every seat matters.
Official rules
- Entries: your House numbers must add up to 435 and your Senate numbers to 100. Independents count with the party they caucus with.
- One entry per e-mail/account. If you post more than once, your first post counts. If you edit your post, the original version counts.
- If X, your X account must be public so we can see your entry.
- Results: we’ll judge using AP results as of November 20, 2026. Any race not yet called will go to the candidate leading at that time.
- Ties: the closest House prediction wins. If that’s still tied, the earliest post wins.
- Prize: one free license of President Forever 2028 when it’s released. If you’d rather play now, you can choose President Infinity 2024 instead.
- Winner: we’ll announce the winner on or around November 20.
- No purchase necessary.
