President Infinity 2021 v. 1.6 for Windows and Mac has been released!
This release adds
- 2020 > updated all graphics
- Ads now use the same CPs system as polls, so if you are creating more ads than your Ads Strength, it costs 1 CP per ad
- ‘Electoral Vote Info Screen’ renamed to ‘Region Screen’
- Endorsers Screen > Fixed a bug where game would crash if no endorsers to display
- Activities > added tooltips
- Research Screen > added region selector
- Ads Screen > added region selector
- Select Campaign Screen > party names > text won’t overflow
- fixed bug with Import > Zip where would delete existing campaigns
- Editor > can set a party to regional and then specify no regions for an observer party
- Editor > graphics switched to Png or Jpg (instead of Bmp)
- Editor > all graphics sizes doubled (except regions)
- Editor > if you enter a new map (double size of previous), coordinates automatically updated
- Editor > Basics > added Campaign Image import
Note: if you have campaigns you have made from President Infinity Classic, it is recommended that you back these up first. Although there should be no problems loading and playing them, this simply errs on the side of caution. If the campaign formatting is unknown, the campaign will be re-written to disk using the new formatting without backing up the original version. If a campaign XML file’s syntax has to be updated, it will backup automatically, however.
This version will not overwrite your existing Classic (3.1.1j) release install (if applicable), so you can play the new official version while still playing your previously installed Classic version.

Installation instructions:
Windows: download (see below) and run the installer.
Windows playing notes: if in full-screen mode, use Alt + Tab to switch back to your other apps when in the game.
Mac: download (see below), decompress (if not done automatically), and then move app file to your Applications.

I just went through the process with your e-mail. There are 3 PI Windows links. There are 2 that say ‘Classic’ and one that just says President Infinity. Look at the links, and you will see one ends with ‘v16_Windows.exe’. That’s the one you want.

on one of my personalized scenarios I have a problem with the polling system
on one of my personalized scenarios, the game always crashes when I advance past January 27th, 2020 (7 days before Iowa)
The Florida 2018 Senate sub-game does not seem to function in President Infinity 2021 whatsoever. This happens whether I use 0, 1, or 2 human players, and on any mode of difficulty. Either the screen freezes and the game crashes, or the main screen fails to ever load. Also, the download link for the new Prime Minister Infinity Canada beta does not appear to be working, either.
There is no sound to be found in this game whatsoever. Meanwhile, nearly all pop-up confirmation dialogues are entitled “Debate Performance” or “Debate Issues” and anytime a private poll is conducted, it takes until the turn AFTER that poll is released before it will show up as its correct shape on the national map, or as the proper position in the strategy list for targeted states.
Spin is the only option that shows up on the Spin Screen. Users are unable to select Neutralize, Flip, or any other choice. In addition, a candidate’s Energy Points can fall well below 0 in certain cases. Has this effect been intentionally developed?
By the way, your Campaign Editor does not work properly. I had no luck inputting the proper percentages by importing a spreadsheet for any of the candidates that I might have come across, even in Administrator Mode!
I am not understanding how private polls work. I have commissioned one for the Iowa Democratic primaries but I literally never actually get the poll results. Is this a bug?

Can you tell me how you are trying to make a poll?
Sure.
I am playing a custom candidate in a 2020 scenario.
Basically, I click in on the binoculars icon on the left-hand side after selecting Iowa on the map. I go to “create” a poll and make it the most accurate poll I can. It will start off by saying the poll will be ready in three days, which sounds great. So I plot out my turn (I play week by week at this phase) and execute it when I’m ready. After going through the news stories, I go back in to look at the Iowa polls and there are no private poll results (every candidate is at zero). Sometimes I will have set the poll to repeat. If I’ve done that, it will say the next poll is coming in “-3” days. I’ve gone through more turns and that number has gone to “-15” days.
I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if this is a bug.

Yep, sounds like a bug. If this still occurs when the next major update to President Infinity is released, please let me know.

Congress Infinity 2022 and A More Perfect Union are the priorities right now. Between those, I think I’ll be able to get a President Infinity update in 2-3 months. But this depends on various things, so take it with a grain of salt.
