President Infinity Beta v. 3.2.6 for Windows and Mac has been released!

This release fixes a major bug where campaigns wouldn’t start in certain locales, and significantly speeds up opening the Endorsers Screen.

Note: if you have campaigns you have made, it is recommended that you back these up first. Although there should be no problems loading and playing them, this simply errs on the side of caution. If the campaign formatting is unknown, the campaign will be re-written to disk using the new formatting without backing up the original version. If a campaign XML file’s syntax has to be updated, it will backup automatically, however.

Note: a Beta release is a pre-official release, for people wishing to test the product. It is not complete. See notes below. This version will not overwrite your existing official release install, so you can test the Beta release while still playing your previously installed official release.

Version Beta 3.2.6 adds

  • fixed bug where campaigns wouldn’t start in certain locales
  • Endorsers Screen > opens more quickly

No Editor. It may crash or have other bugs. Save-load is considered an experimental feature right now (only recommended for games starting in the general election, outside of testing purposes – it is very slow for typical games starting in the primaries, with save times in the minutes for a typical 2020 primaries start, and loads multiples of that).

Installation instructions:

Mac:

Download (see below) and double click on the zip file once downloaded.

1. Right click on the extracted app and select New Terminal at Folder. 

2. Copy and paste the following to the terminal line 

cd Contents/MacOS

then press enter. 

3. Then copy and paste the following to the terminal line

chmod +x *

then press enter. 

4. Then control-click on the app. Select ‘Open’ from the context menu (this is required the first time it is run).

Windows: download (see below) the zip file > right-click > Extract all > select location for extracted folder. Once it extracts, run the President Infinity file in the extracted folder.

Windows playing notes: Use Alt + Tab to switch back to your other apps when in the game. If it hangs, use Ctrl + Alt + Del > Task Manager > Processes > Apps > Infinity > right-click > End task.

If you are a President Infinity owner on subscription (or if you purchased President Infinity within the last year), you are eligible for this upgrade (if not, you can add a subscription here).

  4. have not played in years, since the kickstarter version. The recent election and now time off work has me interested in trying again. Love you keep making improvements over years

  5. Two things:

    We do need the news page to pop up, so we can remember to spin anything that we must.

    Now that she’s more involved, I think it’d be prudent to get Taylor Swift on the endorsement list.

  8. I have been playing this game for-ev-er. I still like the 2008+Primaries version, the structure was much easier and fewer clicks. This format is killer on the clicks, way too much to manage.

    Thanks for the feedback – I’ll be looking at ways to streamline it.

    Anything in particular you find involves too much clicking?

Still having issues when starting in primaries – can get to the very last day of the General Election, but when I click the checkmark to advance to results, it gets stuck on the “Processing Turn” screen. I’ve played around in different scenarios and whether I am doing by week or by day rounds, and have the problem each time with it.

  13. One thing ive been noticing is the days till the next debate when you do a debate skill it never updates past the first debate.

  14. Have upgraded to Windows 10 recently so can test the betas, The updates look very nice, it feels refreshed. Couple of things 1) I’ve noticed the on the activity pages, the pop-up to show fundraising/rally/barnstorm doesn’t close after being configured. so you have to manually do it before selecting the next day’s activity. 2) the Newspaper doesn’t show up daily in the 7 day mode so we miss stories to spin.
