President Infinity Beta v. 1.0.9 for Windows and Mac has been released!
This release adds highscores, you can now export election night results, and an icon on the map indicates when a primary has been completed.
Note: a Beta release is a pre-official release, for people wishing to test the product. It is not complete. See notes below. This version will not overwrite your existing official release install, so you can test the Beta release while still playing your previously installed official release.
Version Beta 1.0.9 adds
- Highscores Screen
- Election Night > now adds high score
- Election Night > can now export results
- Map > primaries > added icon to indicate when primary completed in region
I am not looking for feedback on the game unless it relates to core game functionality (basic things you can’t do in the game, crashing, bugs, things that obviously don’t look right).
You cannot load user designed campaigns. No save-load. No Editor. It may crash or have other bugs.
Installation instructions:
Mac:
Download (see below) and double click on the zip file once downloaded.
1. Right click on the extracted app and select New Terminal at Folder.
2. Copy and paste the following to the terminal line
cd Contents/MacOS
then press enter.
3. Then copy and paste the following to the terminal line
chmod +x *
then press enter.
4. Then control-click on the app. Select ‘Open’ from the context menu (this is required the first time it is run).
Windows: download (see below) the zip file > right-click > Extract all > select location for extracted folder. Once it extracts, run the President Infinity file in the extracted folder.
Windows playing notes: Use Alt + Tab to switch back to your other apps when in the game. If it hangs, use Ctrl + Alt + Del > Task Manager > Processes > Apps > Infinity > right-click > End task.
If you are a President Infinity owner on subscription (or if you purchased President Infinity within the last year), you are eligible for this upgrade (if not, you can add a subscription here).

Next two priorities are enabling playing user-designer campaigns and save-load.
I tried my macbook, and even after doing everthing was said it still didn’t work and froze, I have a 2020 macbook pro

Can you tell me exactly where it froze? Did you receive any error message(s)?
Next update will probably see user designed campaigns enabled.
I have tested 5 user designed campaigns for President Infinity so far. 4 out of 5 currently can be imported no problem. Hopefully, we’ll get close to 100% by time of next update, which is looking to be Tuesday.
Not related to the Beta but I am playing Infinity and chose Sherrod Brown. After winning the nomination, my options for choosing a VP are very limited. Is this intentional?

Probably not. Recommendation: create a mod and add as Veep options for Brown whichever ones you think are realistic.
5/5 can be imported no problem. Will continue testing more campaigns, but it looks like we should have 100% user-designed campaign compatibility.
Playing on a 2018 Macbook with Catalina. The game freezes every time I try to run an ad.
Just randomly, I decided to simulate the 2004 Bush vs. Kerry election. Both times the program froze on the 1st or 2nd simulation.
