New Relations Screen

In the next Prime Minister Infinity – U.K. release, there will be a new Relations screen (it is actually a tab on the Players Info screen). Here you can see it at the start of a 2017 campaign.

You can see a new number, ‘Distance’, which is the platform distance between yourself and the other player, expressed as a percentage of the maximum possible distance (so, if every one of your issue positions were diametrically opposite, that would be 100%). This value is also displayed visually as the distance from a starting point on a line, above the number.

This new screen will also be included in President Infinity and Congress Infinity.

  1. Will there be an option to remove a candidate from the ballot in-game? There’s an option to get on the ballot, but not to remove your candidate.

  2. Having a look at parties positions for 2017, I think a little bit of a rework is needed. The Lib Dems are apparently more left wing than Corbyn’s Labour, which most people would agree isn’t the case.

  3. @JDrakeify,

I’m happy to consider suggestions for specific issue position changes for the Lib Dems or Lab. The issue positions for the most part were taken directly from the party manifestos.

  4. Also, when I finished a game, a message appeared telling me that another election had been called. It’s terribly inconvenient to spend hours changing the percentages to play another snap election scenario.

Most of the issues are fine, though you do have the Lib Dems supporting scrapping tuition fees, which they famously are no longer in favour of. I’d also argue that their 1 penny on income tax proposal for the NHS is less left wing than Labour’s plan to pay for a larger increase out of progressive taxation.

Also, would it be possible to add something to reflect the toxicity of the Tories ‘dementia tax’ proposal?

  6. Wow this looks really good, great news about the coalition offers, will we be able to toggle whether coalition offers can be made or not for specific scenarios, that would be a useful option.

    Thanks

  7. @Shane,

“Will there be an option to remove a candidate from the ballot in-game? There’s an option to get on the ballot, but not to remove your candidate.”

    No.

  8. @Shane,

“Does that mean there will be an option to import the results into a new scenario?”

No plans for this feature at this point.

  9. @Daons,

“will we be able to toggle whether coalition offers can be made or not for specific scenarios, that would be a useful option.”

    Yes.
