Upcoming President Infinity – Version Ericson – 2.4.2

Hi everyone,

This post will keep track of changes to the upcoming version of President Infinity v. Ericson – 2.4.2.

Changes so far (this list will be updated as changes are implemented on this side, these changes will not be available until the version is released):

  • Main Screen > funds now display as abbreviations (for ex. “$ 1.7 M” instead of “$ 1,700,000”), this fixed problem on Macs where funds text too wide
  • Surrogates Screen > fixed bug where error when tried to create surrogate that required PIPs and not enough PIPs left
  • fixed error message which says “0.01 is not a valid floating point value” when playing game in certain locales
  • Select Campaign Screen > primaries > campaign using polling data > fixed bug where candidates not ordered correctly by %s for certain campaigns

  3. Green party should npot be on the ballot in North Carolina and Utah. She is currently on in both in the game. She has no access in Utah and only write-in access (like she does in Indiana and Georgia) in North Carolina.

I was wondering if something can be done for platform shifting. For instance, Clinton’s platform adopted many of Sanders’s policies in an effort to win over him and his supporters. Likewise, Trump made some shifts. In the game, I’m not sure if these shifts automatically happen, or if there is any incentive for the players to move their platform. It could have a short-term negative effect, which I think does happen. For a long-term boost, which may or may not happen. I just think platform movement should be a little more crucial, and at times necessary, to win voters, like it is in real life. Known flip-floppers could be more likely to shift their platform, than more ideological candidates.

  6. @Jonathan,

Will make more sense with Favorability, especially when trying to counter another candidate or moving from primaries to general.

  7. Seems like there are compatiibilty issues with MacOS 10.12. Any chance it can be checked out? Specifically, surrogate activity crashes the game instantly. Other issues, too.

  8. @Ryan

I have the game on Windows 10 and my PC has more than all the requirements to play this game (It’s a gaming PC.) but half way through the Primaries the game always freezes and then crashes. Will there be a fix for this?

  9. @Kieran,

Do you get an error message? Does this occur at a specific point (for example, after you press ‘Done Turn’)?
