  1. Quick comments/questions:

“Starting %s > Polls > if using generic %s, modifies based on candidate’s personal attributes (Leadership, Experience, Integrity, Issue Familiarity, Charisma) and platform”

What do you mean by “generic %s”?

Also in the polling, I notice Libertarian is still a bit low. It’s set to 1% for all states in the Percentages screen, and even in state polls, it’s only 1% in New Mexico.

  2. In one of the future updates, please consider fixing the 1912 elections and elections in the 1960s and before.

Elections required more organic political vehicles historically. For example, Barack Obama built an organizations in the 2008 election cycle out of thin air without the help of state/local Democratic officials. Or a current example, Donald Trump won many states without the help of the local and state Republicans. Historically, neither of the two wouldn’t of been able to enter a state and win without local/state help.

Historically, political candidates at the local, state, and federal level were dependent on local and state parties to carry a candidate. In an age, where there was no television and Internet, elections were run differently and different types of people were elected. Hence, the reason why historically, an endorsement from local officials used to mean something whereas now they don’t.

Consider trying to introduce this concept if it is possible. It can be probably done by valuing the political endorsements more in the earlier election cycles especially those without primaries(pre-1970s party rules changes).

  3. @David B,

Generic %s are for parties instead of candidate specific.

“I notice Libertarian is still a bit low. It’s set to 1% for all states in the Percentages screen, and even in state polls, it’s only 1% in New Mexico.”

You mean Regions > Percentages? That’s overridden by polling data.

  4. @Gentlemensgentleman,

Noted – once we turn to historical campaigns, I’ll be looking more carefully at these sorts of issues.

  5. @Lachlan,

These are part of the rewards for certain people who backed a KickStarter campaign we had. They are in the game as endorsers or surrogates if ‘k’ is pressed on the Select Campaign and Players Screen.

  6. Will there be an update to playing as the winning candidate in the general election? One thing that really bugs me is when you want to create an ad you have to delete at least 60-80 of the comps ads before you can create your own

  7. @Andrew,

Can you tell me what the error message you are receiving (in any) is, what your operating system is, and what options you are playing with (primaries or general, official campaign, which candidate)?

  8. @Jim,

You created them in a custom campaign for a previous version of President Infinity? If so, you should still be able to open that campaign with 2.4.1.

  9. I acquired this game yesterday and I downloaded this version. When I try to play 2016 elections with primaries on with any party and any character I get an error message which says “0.01 is not a valid floating point value” and the game won’t create.

I can play the general election and the other scenarios, even with primaries on.

Nobody else seems to have this problem. I downloaded and installed the game twice. Looking forward to your answer.

  10. No error message – the program just closed. I was playing a general election campaign on the mac version. This happened 3 or 4 times.

  11. I’d like to start a campaign on January 1st (that is, after all when most of the candidates started declaring). But I have an all white map and there’s no percentages.

  12. @Andrew,

Can you tell me the options (primaries or general, which players on, which campaign)? I can try to recreate this.

Any other Mac users experiencing this?

  13. It was a general election campaign. I was playing as Hillary Clinton with Sherrod Brown as VP running against Trump/Pence.

I tried it both with Stein and Johnson and without.

  14. @Andrew,

Did the program close after you did something in particular (press a specific button, for example)? Were you playing on 7 days per turn or 1 day per turn?

  15. @Jesse,

Can you say more about what you are doing? Are you starting the official 2016 campaign in the primaries on Jan. 1st and receiving all tied %s? If so, are you starting with the default candidates?

  16. After some experimenting it looks like it may be doing interviews that causes the game to crash.

I was playing on 1 day per turn.

  17. It is, I’m from Spain. I also thought this could be the cause. Indeed, here we use the comma and not the point as the decimal mark.
