Hi everyone,
This post will keep track of changes to the upcoming version of President Infinity v. Ericson – 2.3.8.
Changes so far (this list will be updated as changes are implemented on this side, these changes will not be available until the version is released):
- Editor > Map > displays x,y coordinates where cursor is
- Editor > Map > now fills according to selected fill coordinates
- Editor > Map > can now click on the map to set the selected fill coordinates
- Editor > Map > added ‘Import Map’ button
- Editor > can edit interviewers
- Editor > Parties > Turnout > fixed bug where blank -> 0
- Editor > fixed bug when changed region’s id where endorsers’ surrogates’ region id’s weren’t updated
- Editor > fixed bug if general election type had been set to PR (available in a previous version) where would then cause an error as PR is no longer available as an option for the general election
- Editor > fixed bug where deleting leader didn’t cause corresponding leader poll data to be deleted
- Editor > fixed bug where deleting political unit didn’t cause corresponding polls to be deleted
- ‘Turn Summary’ -> ‘Notes’
- fixed bug where player who wins contested convention had party’s name instead of candidate’s name when viewing General Election
Excellent changes. When can we expect the release?
Don’t know. Depends how much is added. Probably an unofficial release end of next week.
Can we expect a easier way to import maps? without such strict restrictions?
Question: How does someone edit the general election numbers for a state? Or model a state’s view on an issue in the General election in the editor? I’m a little confused. (This is a question more to the community).
I can edit a state’s primary electorate’s views on the issues but the General election seems weird in the editor.
(Also how about party lines?)
good i like endorse same of 2008 version if candidate of mayor parties endorsed minor the percentage go for candidate endorsed
– Editor > can edit interviewers
– ‘Turn Summary’ -> ‘Notes’
So clicking on the county for example,will place the text automatically? If so this would be amazing and make it SO much easier for Senatorial,and Gubernatorial
Could we have a button to set a region’s issue leanings to match a party in the same way we can with candidates?
Something like;
Set ‘Alabama’ to ‘Democratic Party’ and the issues are automatically switched.
Thanks
@Libertarian,
No, it’s not for placing the abbreviations, but for selecting fill regions coordinates.
However, you can now see the coordinates when you move the cursor across the map, and so can simply decide where you want the abbreviation to be, note the coordinates, and then set them with the text boxes.
@Daons,
Are you thinking certain regions tend to match up with party platforms? So it would be nice to be able to set a ‘red state’, say, to a party’s platform?
@Victorraiders,
That’s an interesting idea – we’ll see.
@RR43,
I’m not sure I understand the question. Can you say more about this?
@Libertarian re importing maps,
What do you mean by ‘without such strict restrictions’?
– fixed bug where player who wins contested convention had party’s name instead of candidate’s name when viewing General Election

Yes especially for those creating governor races it can be quite time consuming to set each county/ region issue by issue. I know that the default states have this already but for new scenarios it would be useful to have an option to align a region in one go like we can with candidates especially where info is sparse.
Thanks
@Daons,
Ok, request noted. We’ll see. What I was considering was creating region groups and then being able to set the platform for the group. Then you can simply add a region to the group and it takes the set platform.

That sounds good, especially if it all remains mod-able 🙂
