  1. Hi Anthony,

Just letting you know, I have downloaded the Mac version – game still shows version 1.8.8, not 1.8.9, but all changes noted above seem to be in place.

Just posting this here in case any others are similarly confused as I was!

    Adam

  2. Hi Anthony,

In my view the following issues ought to be included (in order of salience):

    Very High:
    Immigration
    NHS
    Economy/Budget Deficit

    High:
    Minimum wage/Living Wage
    Unemployment/Poverty
    Housing
    Energy/Fuel Prices

    Medium:
    Privacy/Liberty
    Defense/Foreign intervention
    Common Market
    Inflation/Prices
    Taxation/Tax Evasion
    Public Transport/Public Service in General

    Low:
    Pensions
    Drugs
    Devolution and constitutional reform/Government

    Best;
    Jonathan

  3. @Adam,

Thanks for this! That’s a mistake – the latest game engine is numbered 1.8.8, even though it should be 1.8.9. The way to verify one has the latest version is to check to see if the features listed above are implemented in the version that has been installed, as you did.

  4. Election night obviously needs working on. For some reason some Northern Ireland seats report early, but more seriously there is a line which says that polls close at 8pm (should be 10pm).

Also – even though polls do close at 10 – we do not get any results until at least 11.30, and most do not come in until well past 2am. Northern Ireland reports very late, in fact – the following day!

Hard to see why seats totals should be 200+ so early in a night – and also why they go up and down.

Finally very annoying that you cannot see any particular constituency declarations.

  5. Minor point, Anthony, but. . .

On the Mac version of Prime Minister Infinity UK for the MAC, the icon for the program shows an American flag as per President Infinity and Congress Infinity. Should this icon be a Union Jack instead?

  6. Hi Keith,

Yes, it should be. Did you have a previous version installed before this latest one? If so, try deleting the current version, and redownloading and installing. Please let me know if this fixes the problem.

  7. @John,

Thanks for this feedback. Election night is one of the main features to be worked on for the next release.

  8. Hi Anthony,

Just to second Keith’s point, I too have the US flag as the application icon. I had deleted the application and the application support folder prior to installing the latest version – would there be any files elsewhere in the Mac architecture that could be affecting this?

  9. (Intriguingly, I can see the Union Flag icon in the package contents, within the ‘resources’ folder – so quite bizarre!)

  10. Ok, the OS must be caching a copy of the icon and not refreshing it for some reason – that’s my best guess at this point. I’ll look into how to change this.

  11. I’ve just been playing as UKIP, and there are a number of flaws in their policy positions. The suggestions I make are on their current manifesto, not the 2010 one.

    Budget & Deficit: right –> centre-right
    Education: right –> centre-right
    Environment: centre-right –> right
    NHS: centre-right –> centre-left
    Pensions: right –> centre
    Post Offices: centre-right –> centre
    Tax: right –> centre-right
    Unemployment: right –> centre-right

These are their stated policies. It is not up to me to say whether it’s what they truly believe in, but this should be reflected in the game.

  12. @Michael,

Thanks for this feedback re UKIP – noted.

    @Adam and Michael,

When you open up the DMG (install) file, is the icon in the window that pops up a U.S. flag (before moving it to Applications)?

  13. I’m having some problems with Debate Prep as Nigel Farage. Every time I click the icon it come sup with a little info screen. I press OK but nothing happens. This is seriously damaging my ability to campaign effectively.

  14. @Michael,

You have to click the Debate Prep button on the Debate Prep Screen. I’ll add contextual help to make this more clear – thanks for this.

  15. Re icon, renaming the program seems to fix this. The next version will have a modified name, so it should show the Union Jack if you had a previous version with the U.S. flag installed.

  16. Sorry for the late reply Anthony, and although I think you’ve now cracked it, just in case you still needed to know, I too had the U.S flag on the DMG file.

  17. Are the New Statesman and the Spectator included as potential endorsers? I can’t remember seeing them.

If not then they tend to lean centre-left and centre-right respectively.
