The reporter linked to in this recent article on Republican contenders dismissed ideas of him running.
So here’s an open question – if Romney isn’t preparing for a possible third bid with his extensive campaigning on behalf of Republicans, appearances on news shows, press releases about Hillary Clinton, and so on, then what’s he doing?
I think he is still considering it. I think he’s just waiting to see what the field is. I think if both Christie and Bush run, then he won’t run. In fact, I don’t think Bush and Romney run. I think Romney may still go in if Christie does, but only if the scandals don’t seem past Christie.
But my speculation is just as much speculation as the author’s speculation.
