Release: President Forever 2016 v. 1.3.7 Test Release 2

President Forever 2016 v. 1.3.7 Test Release 2 has been released. This changes how the save and scenario file systems work (which should solve certain ‘access denied’ bugs some people were having), and changes the look on certain screens.

This is a Test Release, not an official release. You can download a Test Release by requesting a re-download e-mail at the link below. When you receive the e-mail, you will have both a President Forever 2016 link and a President Forever 2016 Test Release link. You will want to download the file from the Test Release link.

Note: if you are a President Forever 2012 owner, you are eligible for this upgrade.

  1. Really like the new load screen, hope it can also be implemented for the main screen where you pick the scenario. I feel like that screen is outdated, especially when the scenario info is ticking along. Can you just put the information up instead of having a typewriter effect?

  2. I would also nix the scenario picture, it’s too small of a space to work with. Another idea is putting up the starting percentages or having the title displayed more prominently. A lot of these ideas could probably done easily.

    Thanks for the feedback – you mean the Select Scenario Screen? Is there anything about that screen you don’t like outside of the scenario blurb being displayed dynamically?

  4. No everything seems fine, maybe if you want to give the front page a fresh look you can take out the earth and put in the capital or the whitehouse.

  5. Oh the only thing that is annoying now is when you barnstorm and it tells you the stats you have to scroll down instead of it being all on one page, you can probably change that easily if you want.

  7. Gameplay is smooth however election night does not work on the.2012 version the next update will be an awesome one!

  8. On election night an error message comes up and says cannot open file due to the filename directory name or volume label syntax error

  9. The game crashes for me every time I start the first turn. It says access denied and says something about the poll data history. It has done this for me on both the 2012 and 2016 scenarios. It was Romney’s data history in 2012 and Rubio in 2016, both computer players.

    I don’t know which candidates will be added – to an extent that depends on who decides to run.

    I have the same errors as Jonathan. Also, you got to make the game more difficult o r at least have that possibility, it´s to easy now.

    As I told in a previous post, if you play WEB ads all the campaign you win, and if you add to that a negative theme against your opponent you can have a HUGE WIN. You don´t have to do anything else, not prepare for debates or anything similar.

    For example, I´ve played as Gary Johnson in the general election 2012 scenario. I run web ads all the campaign in favor of me and lots of web ads(too cheap) against Obama and Romney, conclusion: their support collapsed heavily. On election day polls showed , Romney 32%, Obama 31%, Undecideds 30,1% Johnson 6,9%.

    The final result, GARY JOHNSON recieved 40,6%, Romney 30,8%, Obama 28,6%

  12. I dont think that web ads are the problem. More people see web ads and i believe they can be very effective. Try to go to hard on the difficulty settings and see what happens.
